Iam new to the site, and have heard a little about alternative therapies. I have asked my Dr. about special vitamins, minerals, ect. He has no idea what they are, but is willing to help me get them via prescription if I feel they are needed. Can someone please brief me on what's out there, where to find it, and the effects on development or health.

I haven't started PJ on any of these, but am watching the yahoo group site, and am trying to learn what I can about them. Not sure insurance would cover any of these things, because vitamins aren't the same as medicine. Here are the sites I've found:

http://www.nutrichem.com/Shop.html?vmchk=1

http://www.lleichtman.org/tni.shtml

http://www.nutrivene.com/

http://www.altonweb.com/cs/downsyndrome/index.htm?page=tniintro.html

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DSTNI/

Best wishes, and please let me know what you end up doing, and how it works for you.

There are a number of people that have children on MSB+ or NutriveneD on here and I think there may be another one as well. Carson is on NutrveneD and has been since he was about 3 or 4 months old. There will be people that tell you that it is worthless and there will be people that swear by it. You will have to use your own judgment. Your Dr.'s will normally say that it is worthless although mine did admit if it were her child she would use it too. For us Carson is doing so well that we will not take him off of it. It is not a prescription, anyone can order it and MSB will send you samples if you call and request them. If you have any questions please PM me and I would be happy to tell you why we do use it.

Kayla

We use MSB + for Mayson. She has been on it since she was about 10 months old. She has been the healthiest of all of my kids. My doctor wasnt for them or against them. He was willing to check into it for me too. we have been very happy with the msb!
good luck!

We use Nutrivene too. Payton has been on it since 3 months of age and she is doing very well. I would go back and read the history of this TNI forum and you might learn a lot. Smile
