The first 12 parents, and 2 SLP's have finished the first ever training of it's kind! They have learned how to Cue their ENTIRE language! Every one of them left class soooooo excited.
I can tell you this...One of the SLP's works with the Down Syndrome Clinic here in Minneapolis. Yesterday at the end of class she told the instructor, "This is the most informative class I have attended in 10 years! THIS is something I will be able to use with my patients and it MAKES SENSE!"
Shellie (the instructor who came from Utah) and I also spent time planning a curriculum for parents/families/educators to use once they know how to cue. We don't ever want anyone to feel like, "Ok, I've learned how to do it. NOW WHAT?" We're hoping to have much of the curriculum completed by fall. We're also putting together a presentation video so I don't have to travel the country explaining this to various groups. We don't want to spend our entire budget on travel! It's not a good use of money.
Anyway, I just wanted you to know about this. You're going to be hearing more....I PROMISE! And it won't even be from me! It will be from other parents who've learned the system and are excited about it.
"At first people refuse to believe that a strange new thing can be done, then they see it can be done, then it's is done and all the world wonders why it was not done centuries ago." Frances Hodgsen Burnett
